Sam's excuses about players being tired.
|
Only 4 teams in the premiership have played less games than us this season. QPR, Leicester, Burnley & Villa and they are the bottom 4.
When Liverpool played us the other week, we had no game in mid week yet they had played Chelsea on the Tuesday night that went 120 minutes yet it was us that lacked energy in that game. Liverpool have also played 10 more matches than us this season.
Next weekend we play Tottenham. They have a match on Thursday against Fiorentina while we will have had 8 days rest. Tottenham have also played 11 more games than us this season so what will sam's excuses be if we lose? You can bet if the roles were reversed, Sam would be going on about us having to play a game in midweek and not having time to recover and yet no one else seems to complain about it.
Allardyce sounded like he was doing all of us a favour when he said because we were practically safe we could have a go at the FA cup.
It's either about injuries or being tired but never about the manager or players not doing there job and it's getting fucking tiresome (no pun intended).

He should have said we lost cos we played like a bunch of cunts. But managers never do that these days do they?
The excuses are utter nonsense though. Some of them didn't even play in the week, so not sure where this 'out on their feet' shit is even coming from.
What would he do if we ever qualified for Europe?

Considering he drains my will to live, and I've never even met him, I can only imagine what it must be like to work under him.

It must be tiring working for 4.5 hours in 6 days.

He's meant to be a sophisticated manager at the top of his games with an army of stats and using cutting edge sports science.
A lack of energy and fitness is pathetic.

Fed up of his excuses, Liverpool played with nearly all the same players as in their last 2 games and they looked fit as fiddles tonight.

Bloke's been found out massively and is now going through the motions.
If this was most firms, he'd have been out the door weeks ago.

The irony of the Nolan substitution is that BFS was probably taking him off as in his mind the game was lost so he could rest him and make sure he was fit to play against Spurs next game. I despair.

Our team doesn't lack energy or intensity away from home. It's how they're directed to play. They've always been set up to play that way by Allardyce away from home!
Defending more important than scoring, don't make mistakes, don't concede, secure at least a point, try and nick a win if you can!
That eventually will lead to a lack of passion and intensity like we saw against Liverpool, and again today.
I'd love to see us approach an away game where we went out to try and win. Play 3 games like that, you might lose some, you might win some. At the end of the day, 1 win and 2 losses is worth the same as 3 draws! But the message you're sending to the players is a more positive one......
Won't ever happen with the current man in charge though. He has his way, and one thing you can say about the guy is, he's consistent in his methods!

AC - Felt the exact same thing about the Song and Sakho substitutions too. At least he waited until 60+ minutes before quitting on the game.
Chelsea away he'd done it before the game even started!

Playings better than training
With 3 games in 6 days he should only be putting them through light training working set pieces, who to mark etc
Maybe he's working them too hard between games!

Doubt it Duke.....
He's a genius with science at his fingers. A real forward thinker. No chance he's doing anything wrong! *tongue firmly in cheek*

Bang on, Sold. That was in the days when you ate a steak before going on the pitch and had a pint and a snout at half time. No warm ups. No shin pads. Football's heavy as medicine balls. And all for 100 quid a week.
MODERN FOOTBALL IS SHIT.
